I was surprised at how robust they are. The finish is good on it without any paint chipping or discoloration. I like the spring loaded feature for auto closing. It was easy to adjust and the retail pricing is comparable to other sets of 2 hinges. These were simple to install and works as intended. The black looks sharp against the white door. I would consider another set for another door we have that could use some auto closing. I like it and I'm glad I was able to get it to try out.

At $13 when I picked these up, that felt like an average price on a 2 pack of self closing, 4 inch hinges, so a 3/5 in value. In terms of quality, these are average, a 3/5. These hinges are rounded on only one side, which might not be something everyone wants as many prefer both sides to match, either both rounded or both square. The tension spring in the hinges aids in closing the door automatically, just as the product says it will do. It does include a small tool for somewhat adjusting this, though I found the difference in adjustment to be minimal. If you like having a door hit you in the... on the way out, then this 2 pack of hinges would help you achieve that. The matte black is a nice color for hinges. They're relatively easy to install and use if you have had any experience mounting door hinges or replacing hinges before. Overall, at a 3/5 in both value and quality, these are a 3/5.

For one, it is nice to have the door close automatically, but in many places like where I live, it is actually required by building code. In most cases, I find that I can just use a single spring hinge per door to get it to close completely. We unfortunately forget to lock the door from our garage to the outside sometimes when we take out the trash or just move about without having to open the garage door. This has truly been life changing for us because we have installed an automatic lock, but since it isn't always fully flush, the lock itself would get stuck, this self closing door hinge fixes the issue. There is heft to these hinges which makes it feel like it was made with quality materials. Our garage door is also very heavy so we were afraid it would not auto close, but this clearly was made exactly for that manner. It has closed the door by itself when we would forget to fully shut it and the auto lock would kick in and keep our place secure. Even the wind has trouble pushing it open.
