I have been very impressed with the quality and functionality of these ASAHOM CrestPillar permanent outdoor lights. The lights and wiring feel durable and well made, not flimsy or disposable. When installed properly under the eaves and protected as much as possible from direct sunlight and harsh weather, they feel like they should hold up well for a long time.Installation was much easier and more flexible than I expected. The set includes plenty of adapters and longer extension cords, making it possible to work around gaps, corners, and other features of the house without disrupting the overall appearance. We only needed approximately 70 feet of the included 100 feet, but the design of the system allowed us to create a clean installation without having a large amount of excess wire hanging or bundled at the end. That flexibility should make these lights suitable for many different home layouts.The app is another major strength. It is intuitive, responsive, and makes it extremely easy to change colors, brightness, patterns, and effects. There are plenty of customization options, whether you want a subtle everyday accent, a specific color combination, or a more animated holiday display. We have already had a lot of fun going through the different holiday themes and experimenting with our own setups. The Alexa integration also works exactly as advertised, which makes turning the lights on and off or incorporating them into a routine especially convenient.These lights can also be surprisingly bright. On the brighter settings, they do more than simply add decorative color to the house. They provide enough illumination to make previously dark areas of our yard visible at night. At the same time, the brightness can be reduced when we want softer accent lighting, so they are useful throughout the year and not limited to holidays.Overall, these lights exceeded my expectations. They feel durable, were easy to install, offer excellent flexibility for different layouts, and provide an impressive range of colors and effects. The app is easy to navigate, Alexa compatibility works reliably, and the brightness range makes them useful for both decorative and practical lighting. They are a great option for anyone who wants customizable permanent outdoor lighting without having to repeatedly hang and remove seasonal lights. An easy five-star recommendation.

I installed these lights in a sunroom on long lumbers that run all around the space, 10 feet above floor. The surface is protected, so I installed them face up, and about 4-inches spaced from windows, projecting light to windows and upward. In a typical installation, these lights are installed under a soffit or under closed eaves of a house, facing down, and projecting light on a wall. The display is stunning. These lights are far more interesting, versatile, and advanced than common string lights.What I like about these lights:• Each light module is independently controllable via an App. You can set the color for each individual light and create your own design. When done, you can apply motion to your design. For example, I was able to alternate green and red colors in the entire string and apply flicker, motion, firework effect, etc. Each light can be set from a pallet of thousands of color (similar to how you pick a color in Photoshop).• There are 13 light strings that include 72 light modules, good for a total length of about 100-ft. You can use less lights (less number of strings) for smaller spaces, or buy additional strings and extend your total length. I used Four of the longest strings for a total of 36 lights, but I can still extend them when I need to. When you use the App for the first time, you will need to specify how many lights are in your string. This is important, because this allows you to design your string “pixel by pixel”.• Although it is so much fun to set the color of your string pixel by pixel, you can use the preset colors and animations for a quick set up.• I was unable to use the AI patterns and colors because my network is 5.0-GHz, which is not supported. The controller module only works with 2.4 GHz WiFi routers. I installed the App for Bluetooth control using my mobile, and it works very well.• There is a “music sync” feature, that works. The audio needs to be close to the controller unless it is very loud. There is also a GAIN control to adjust the sensitivity, and multiple modes to sync audio with the string light. Overall, the music sync feature is appealing.• The light modules have rugged enclosure with two small tabs for installing using screws. You can use the self-adhesive backing to install on surfaces such as soffits. I used the included stainless steel screws to install my string. The tabs are kind of flexible to resist cracking under pressure, still, it is a good idea not to tighten the screw on them.• The LEDs are super bright. In warm and cool white modes, they lit up the sunroom beautifully. The brightness can be adjusted.• The strings are easy to connect to each other and to the controller. The connectors are high quality, polarized, and water proof. There is a cap (plug) for each connector so that if the connector ends up to be the last connector and unused, you can plug the end for protection.I am pleased with the application in our sunroom, I can imagine it can be used under pergolas and other overheads. Definitely the best outdoor lights I have had.

After ordering these I was really looking forward to getting them and installing them on my house. After getting them, I'm still looking forward to putting them up, but unfortunately, it's going to be a little while before that happens. I'll explain in a moment.First off, let me say that I am SUPER impressed with this light kit after receiving it and testing it out. The box weighs a TON because there are 72 "pucks" with lights included along with a power brick, extensions, mounting hardware, and a control unit plus all the wiring that connects it all together. I pulled all of it out of the box and connected all of the lights. The control unit has one input and two outputs so that you can introduce power to the string of lights almost anywhere within the string. You don't have to have the power connected to the very end of the string for it to work. The light pucks (I'm calling them pucks, not sure if that's the right term) appear to be well constructed and they include small tabs on them to mount with screws instead of (or in addition to) the adhesive tape that is on the bottom of each one. The pucks are larger than other permanent light sets I've seen (about 1" high!)because each one has 3 LED's in it rather than just one. On one end is an RGB LED light, on the other is a white LED light that can be adjusted for temperature, and the middle RGBW LED which they are calling a "pillar" light that casts a narrower beam than the other two lights. The lights are spaced about 16-1/2" apart so the 72 lights give you about 100 feet of lighting. There are other accessories in the box like extensions for bridging areas that you don't want to have lights, as well as a tester to help find faults in the wiring sections. If you want to make the string of lights shorter, you can cut a light (or lights) out, and splice or terminate the wiring with the included accessories. It really is a very complete kit!Connecting all of the wiring sections was easy. Just align the plugs and push them together, then screw the collar onto the threads to hold everything together. Same with the power connections and the controller. Upon plugging it in and hitting the power button, The RGB sections lit up and colors could be changed by hitting one of the buttons on the controller. Hitting the other controller button cycled through some lighting sequences for various holiday colors and effects. Pressing both control buttons switched the pucks to the white LED's. I couldn't figure out how to get the center Pillar lights to work using the controller, but no big deal as the real power of this lighting is contained in the APP.After downloading the app and getting signed in, I connected my phone to the lights which was really very easy. After that, you are able to access THOUSANDS of different lighting scenes using ANY of the LED's! I was blown away by the sheer number and variety of different effects you can do. In addition to the included effects, you can customize the lights to do pretty much anything you want, and the AI scene creator allows you to easily make custom scenes without having to dig into the programming aspect.As I said in the beginning, I was looking forward to putting these on my house. I injured my foot recently so I can't get up and down a ladder for a couple of months. The other bump in the road is with my HOA rules that say that you can't have holiday decorations (including lights) up ALL YEAR long. Because these are permanent lights, they would fall into that category. However, this is being addressed at our annual meeting in October and I should be able to put them up as soon as the rules get changed.All in all, I am SUPER impressed with these lights! Yes, they are a little pricier than some of the others out there, but they do so much more, and the solid construction makes them worth the cost. I would highly recommend these to anyone looking for permanent holiday lighting!

The triple-lens LEDs on this system produce a noticeably richer color output than single-lens permanent lights; the RGBCW range covers warm white for everyday use all the way through full color for holidays and events without the washed-out look that cheaper LED strips give off. 100 feet covered the roofline with enough to wrap around some accent features without needing a second run.72 LEDs across that length space the light output evenly without dark gaps between fixtures that some permanent light systems have at wider spacing. App control makes switching between color schemes and effects for different occasions take seconds instead of climbing a ladder to swap anything out. Install was a one-time job that looks clean and intentional on the roofline year-round, not the temporary strung-up look of seasonal lights.Good long-term investment for anyone tired of the annual holiday light routine.

I’ve been really impressed with these ASAHOM CrestPillar permanent outdoor lights. The overall quality and durability feel very good. The individual light housings, wiring, and connections are all made well and feel like they’re designed to stay installed outdoors instead of being something you have to take down after every holiday. Once installed, everything has a clean, professional appearance and blends in nicely during the daytime.The brightness is excellent. These lights put out plenty of light to really make the house stand out at night, and the RGBCW setup gives you a huge range of colors along with more traditional white lighting. I especially like that they aren’t limited to just holiday lighting. You can use them for Christmas, Halloween, birthdays, game days, parties, or just regular everyday accent lighting around the house.One of the biggest advantages is the customizability. With thousands of different effects and combinations available, you can completely change the appearance of your house depending on the occasion. The different colors and lighting effects look great against the exterior of the house and can really change the entire look of your home at night. Having app and voice-control options also makes them much more convenient than traditional outdoor lights.The versatility is another major selling point. This 100-foot kit has a dual-output design, and the system can be extended if you need additional coverage. That makes it a good option whether you’re lighting a smaller section of your home or working toward a much larger permanent lighting setup.Installation does take some planning because you want your spacing and placement to look consistent, but once everything is laid out properly, the finished result is definitely worth the effort. I ordered the ASAHOM 100FT Permanent Outdoor Lights CrestPillar 72 RGBCW Triple-Lens LEDs. I have had a different style of ASAHOM lights installed since last year with good results, so I figured I would try this version. These lights have the same excellent build quality. They are much larger and brighter than most permanent lights. The AC adapter is 3-prong, which means these lights are grounded (better fire safety). I have them under my white 2x6 fascia boards and they blend right in during the day. The lights look awesome at night.I recommend using the adhesive backs for temporary placement until you decide on the look you want to achieve. Then install with the provided wood screws. The light display will look different when installed under the fascia compared to a few inches from the wall of the house. Installation is more time-consuming if installed next to the wall, because you need to add a wood trim piece along the underside of the rafters for proper wire support. Since these lights are larger than average, a 1x4 or 2x4 trim piece will be needed. This version can be cut, and adapters are included, which makes installation up peaks easier. It also supports a much longer run at 800 feet maximum.The lights will connect to Wi-Fi on 2.4 GHz only. The app is listed in the Google Play Store, so you don't have to sideload it. I prefer to use a remote rather than have another device on my Wi-Fi network. Note: There is no external remote with this setup, so you must use the app to control it. It is best to make sure the controller is nearby in case you have to do a manual power reset or reconnect it to the app. Overall, it is an excellent buy, but I won't order more until they go on sale. The price is a bit steep for me at $5 a foot.

These lights have been amazing so far. I bought them to replace a cheaper set of permanent outdoor lights that only lasted about four months, and the difference in quality is immediately noticeable. I tried saving money the first time and ended up paying for it. These cost more, but after installing and using them, I think they're absolutely worth the extra money.Everything arrived well packaged, and the instructions were straightforward. I always recommend testing permanent lights before going through the trouble of installing them, and thankfully every light worked perfectly right out of the box.Installation itself isn't difficult, although the amount of time it takes will obviously depend on your house. The adhesive backing is surprisingly strong, and I really like that each light also has a screw mounting point for additional security. For something that's supposed to remain outside permanently, I feel much better having a mechanical mounting option instead of relying entirely on adhesive.The physical controller provides the basic functions, but the app is where these lights really shine. There are tons of colors, scenes, animations, and customization options. Compared with my previous permanent lights, there's significantly more freedom to create exactly the appearance you want.Brightness is excellent as well. I currently run mine at around 65%, and that's already plenty bright enough to illuminate the house. Having the additional brightness available is nice, but I honestly haven't needed to run them anywhere near 100%.One of my favorite features is the AI scene creator. You can describe what you want instead of manually building an effect from scratch. I'm a New York Knicks fan, so during the playoffs I asked it to create a display using Knicks colors. It generated a really cool lighting effect that matched the team colors and made watching the games even more fun.Another big advantage is expandability. I started with the 100-foot kit, but the system can support considerably more lighting, so I have the option of expanding around additional sections of the house later instead of replacing everything.I also appreciate that the system is designed with replaceability in mind. With permanent outdoor lighting, eventually having a component fail is always possible, so being able to replace parts rather than throwing away an entire lighting system adds a lot of value.Overall, these aren't the cheapest permanent outdoor lights available, but after my experience with a cheaper set, I'd rather spend more for something this well made. The brightness, installation hardware, massive amount of customization, AI effects, expandability, and overall quality make the higher price much easier to justify. If you're planning to install permanent lighting on your house, I'd definitely recommend spending the extra money for a quality system like this.
