This is an unusual lamp that is a cylinder that lights all the way around. It give 360 degrees of light. It is a great corner piece to light up my den. The walls have a bit of a pearlescent glow in the paint, so this light adds glow to the walls sending iridescent glimmer across the walls and lights up the room. The light is a fixed light temperature so that it is a warm, golden glow all the time. It isn't dimmable either. There is an on/off foot switch. The lamp itself is beautiful. It has a bit of an art deco/modern vibe to it with the brass, black and marbled base. It is super easy to assemble to screw the lengths of the lamp together, then plug into the wall and turn it on. It has a suitably heavy base, so it won't be easy to knock over. It has added a warm glow to it similar to the glow of a fireplace. It will be great to have this lit this fall and winter while reading or watching movies on a cold, drizzly day! It is a beautiful, modern style lamp to have in my home!

I was pleasantly surprised at how easy this lamp was to set up. I was worried when the package came -- it had suffered some damage during shipment. Something had punched a hole through the top edge of the box. Fortunately, the product was well-cushioned with thick styrofoam. There was no damage to the contents.It took only a few minutes to get this lamp set up and plugged in. The package comes with a small hex (Allen) key and 3 tiny screws. These attach the post to the base. It was a slightly delicate operation to begin threading each screw into the hole on the base. (I was worried about dropping and losing one of the screws.) But after that, it was simple. I spent as much time removing the protective plastic sleeves as I did screwing the post segments together.The lamp is a good addition to a reading nook, next to your favorite chair. It's not going to dominate a room -- rather it's more of an accent, which will provide warm light in a cozy corner. I like that it uses a low-voltage LED light, so I don't mind leaving it on in the evening as an accent light. The power consumption is negligible.

Everything arrived intact and worked perfectly out of the box.Assembly was straightforward and typical for a floor lamp. They hold everything firmly and make the lamp feel stable.The biggest disappointment for me is the faux marble accent on the base. It’s only on the center section where the pole attaches, and to me it looks more like cracking than marble. Combined with the offset placement of that center piece, it gives the lamp a slightly cheaper appearance than I’d expect for a $99 floor lamp.Functionally, though, I really like it. I wanted a light I could aim at a chair without being a beacon into the sun. The head swivels and tips so the light lands where you point it and stays there. The model name is Kindle, which on Amazon of all places takes some nerve.Two of the reviews on here have it doing things it doesn't do. The LED is built into the head, so whenever it finally goes, the lamp goes with it. Another one calls it very bright and mine isn't, which is the reason I kept it, because a reading light that lights the whole room is no use to me. None of that cost it a star, since simple is what I went looking for.The marble is oversold. The listing does say marble look and marble effect, so it isn't lying to you, but it's a coating over a metal base and it looks like a piece set on the bottom instead of a stone base. Weight is where you notice. The whole lamp is six and a half pounds, and an actual stone base is most of what keeps something this tall standing up when it gets bumped. Put it somewhere it won't get walked into and you get a very modern minimalist reading light, that looks like you got cash.
