What a great little device. Turn any cordless power tool into a power source for what ever you want. It's very versatile but takes a bit of know how. It's very compact and can mount just about anywhere. It's easy to install and brings some extra value to your existing batteries.

I've got a small pile of Craftsman V20 packs sitting in the garage and most of them spend their lives waiting for a drill. Picked this adapter up about two weeks ago to see if I could put them to work on some bench projects instead. So far I've run a 12V LED strip through a buck converter, a small motor, and a test rig I threw together for checking accessories before I wire them into anything permanent. The fit is the first thing you notice. It slides onto the battery rail with a clean click and there's no wobble once it's seated. Nothing rattles when you carry the whole assembly around, which matters if you're building something that moves. Pulling the pack off is the same easy motion as taking it off a tool. The wire is legitimately 12 gauge, not the thin stuff some of these adapters ship with. It's flexible enough to route without fighting you. The inline fuse holder sits on the positive lead and it's the standard automotive blade type, so replacing a fuse means a trip to any parts aisle. Mine held the fuse tight enough that I had to work at it a bit going in. The switch is the part I appreciate most day to day. Being able to kill power without popping the battery off saves a lot of fiddling, and it means nothing sits there slowly draining while the project waits on the shelf.

I ordered this Craftsman 20V Battery Adapter because I have a few Craftsmen batteries and I wanted to see what kind of project I could do with the adapter.Soon after ordering this adapter I was able to order a 12v wireless remote switch. I wanted to test these items in combination with one another so I bought a Buck converter to step the 20v down to 12v.This item comes with everything listed in the product description which was a huge help making the connection to the converter very quick and simple. This was my first time using a “lever wire connector” and I can say I’m very impressed with its functionality. The connector says it works with 28-12AWG wire and it did just that. The wiring used in the construction of the adapter is marked 12AWG and with the specifications. The fuse fits very snug in the fuse holder so I put some dielectric grease on the blades before reinserting. This battery adapter did an excellent job at supplying power to the converter, to the wireless remote and to a 12v LED light. If you are looking for another gadget to add to your Craftsman system then I can certainly recommend this product due to its quality construction and how well it functions. At $14.90 at the time of this review it’s a good value for the money.

I picked up this Craftsman 20V MAX Battery Adapter to act as the primary power dock for my portable DIY BoomBox builds, and using existing tool batteries to run custom audio gear is a total game-changer. Since I already own a solid collection of Craftsman V20 cordless tools, this adapter allows me to slide those same high-capacity packs straight onto my custom speaker enclosures. It provides a clean, reliable, and removable 20-volt power source without the hassle of building a permanent internal battery bank from scratch.In-Line Safety Fuse Protection and Master Toggle SwitchThe standout feature of this power dock is the inclusion of a dedicated in-line fuse holder and an integrated heavy-duty toggle switch. When you are tapping into lithium-ion tool batteries, they can unleash a ton of current instantly if there is a short circuit, which can fry an amplifier board in a heartbeat. Having a factory-wired fuse holder pre-installed on the positive lead adds vital circuit protection, while the robust rocker switch gives you a solid mechanical on/off control right at the power source, preventing any parasitic drain when the audio rig is turned off.Snug Slide-On Rail Docking and Wiring Utility FeaturesPrecise V20 Rail Alignment: Specially molded to match the factory tracks of Craftsman 20V MAX batteries perfectly, ensuring the pack slides on smoothly and locks firmly without rattling loose during transport.Pre-Wired Fuse Block Safety: Includes an accessible automotive-style fuse housing on the main lead to choke off accidental short circuits before they hit your expensive internal components.Mechanical Master Power Switch: Provides a dedicated, heavy-duty toggle link that cuts all battery draw instantly, ensuring your custom builds don't slowly drain cells while sitting on the shelf.Heavy-Gauge Conductive Leads: Outfitted with thick, flexible copper wiring that handles high current demands effortlessly, delivering clean, un-throttled power straight to your Class D amplifier boards. The Honest BreakdownPros: Safely taps into your existing Craftsman V20 tool batteries; pre-wired in-line fuse protects custom circuits from shorts; built-in mechanical switch cuts parasitic power drain entirely; heavy-gauge leads wire up cleanly.Cons: Because this dock outputs the raw, native voltage of a fully charged 20V tool battery (which sits right around 20 to 21 volts max), it does not feature any built-in voltage regulation or low-voltage cutoff circuitry. If your specific audio board or project requires a lower voltage, or if you want to prevent accidentally over-discharging the tool battery below its safe threshold, you will need to wire an external regulator or low-voltage disconnect module between this adapter and your main components.Summary: Why it's a good valueThis Craftsman V20 battery adapter is an exceptional value because it saves you the immense expense of buying separate lithium cells, custom charging blocks, and dedicated power management systems for every single build. It provides a rugged, safe, and pre-fused docking solution that lets you swap fresh tool batteries into your custom gear in under two seconds. For any DIYer looking to utilize their existing Craftsman cordless tool packs to run high-powered mobile electronics projects, this integrated power dock is a 5-star workbench find.
