This is a really handy way to get more use out of my Makita 18V batteries, especially when I’m working somewhere without an outlet nearby. Having the AC outlet plus USB and USB-C charging covers most of the small electronics I’d realistically use it for, and the built-in LED light is a nice bonus for power outages or working in a dark spot. It’s compact enough to toss in a tool bag without taking up much room. Just keep in mind that it’s a 250W inverter, so it’s meant for smaller devices rather than anything seriously power-hungry. Overall, a useful little backup power option if you already have Makita batteries sitting around.

I'm blown away by all of the things power tool batteries can do. I've stocked up on a few from different brands - in part for their tools, but in part for all of the other stuff you can power with these batteries.I got this inverter because I wanted another way to use my Makita-style batteries during camping, emergencies, and projects away from an outlet.I like it because it combines an AC outlet with USB and USB-C charging, plus an LED light. That makes one charged tool battery useful for several different small-power needs.I especially like it for charging my phone and other electronics in my van, powering small compatible devices at a worksite, or keeping basic communication gear running during an outage.The important limitation is the 250-watt output. It is designed for modest electronics and small devices, not appliances with high starting loads, heaters, or other power-hungry equipment.I recommend.

I started using this 250W inverter mainly as a quick way to get AC power from Makita 18V batteries for charging other devices sort of like a more versatile power bank setup. It clicks directly onto the battery; fast and simple. The first test was charging some light USB device, which was off the USB-C and posed no real issue. Next, I plugged in a 500W power station feeding multiple devices from laptops to power banks; again with no issue. Finally, I decided to pressure test by plugging in a 3amp paper shredder on full load and it did run, but drained the batter quick and the little inverter quickly reached its thermal limits. There is a fan that I was waiting to spin up under load, but nothing. I did stop testing when it reached over 70C so as to not exceed the 'Max 75C' rating and damage the unit.The unit itself feels light but not flimsy, and there is a built-in LED status light that is difficult to see with out cutout for it to shine through. there is also a built in flashlight if you're taking this thing camping or in a dark basement; somewhere you need a modest power source and a light. It's also good as an emergency backup during a power outage..A few practical notes from using it:🔋 Works well for phones, tablets, and laptops within the 250W limit🔋 Direct Makita battery connection makes it very portable🔋 LED light is handy🔋 Multiple ports allow charging several devices at onceCooling fan runs under load but doesn’t feel intrusiveAs long as your expectation are in check, you'll get a lot of versatile charging use from this inverter. I tested with a sustained average load of ~40W and got over 2 hours of power from one 6Ah battery. Having a few batteries ready to swap in definitely increase the utility. For quick portable power without resorting to a large inverter setup, it fits into a useful middle ground and lets you get even more use out of your Makita ecosystem. I want to also close by emphasizing how much more affordable this solution is over a larger inverter and competitively priced, considering the wattage and battery compatibility.

It's not especially bright, and the brightness settings cycle through 100%, 75%, 50%, and off. It's handy in a pinch, but the real value of this product is the power inverter and charging capabilities.Where this unit shines is as a portable power source. The charging and power functions work great, and having access to AC power and multiple charging ports from a Makita battery is extremely convenient. Everything I've connected has powered up without issue.Overall, this is a well-designed, portable inverter that performs its primary job very well. If you're a tool lineup is compatible with Makita and you have Makita batteries this is a great power inverter to pick up for your kit. I attached my Makita 4AH 18 volt battery to this tool and tested it by first turning on the flashlight. I had the flashlight on for a couple of hours and in that time frame the battery didn't drop from the four initial bars. After that I connected my cell phone through the AC plug and allowed it to charge. It wasn't showing rapid charging but it was charging at a regular rate and charge continuously for about an hour. Didn't experience any type of problems with the unit during that time frame. I then connected the USBC cable charge the phone some more and it continuously charged without any issues. I really like the fit and finish on the tool the battery slide into this inverter really easily and begin working immediately. There's two buttons on top one that turns on the inverter and one that turns on the flashlight. This unit has a great value considering that you're getting a flashlight you can charge direct plug electronics USBC and USBA items like tablets cell phones flashlights and other things related to that. I use this inverter for approximately 2 hours total it didn't get hot and function great.

Not always on.I observed 5V and 12V outputs but not 20V.Non bi-directional; cannot be used to charge battery.* AC 110V/ 60 Hz/ 250W (x1)Unloaded, I measured 108.8V rms at 61.5Hz and 50.0% duty cycle (i.e. a pure, undistorted sinewave).As specified (250W), its AC output should be able to supply just over 2A at 110V and can easily drive many devices including most laptop AC adapters.* Flashlight with 3 brightness levels (+OFF).The inverter is very compact with a convenient layout and intuitive controls. It features over-voltage/current/temperature/load protection, and it turns itself off after a time when there is no current draw.In all, this is a very useful inverter that works very well with Makita-style M18 batteries.Recommended!

Electronic devices expecting 120VAC - varies. Those with external 'brick' power supplies are converting to 12-24 VDC anyway, and maybe just run warmer and vibrate a bit. But some may burn out, or deliver insufficiently clean power to the device. Tablets, Phones, USB devices should all be ok - the circuitry for that is entirely separate ('buck' down-convertor).Inverters, sine or SSW, consume some power, called 'standby current' when connected, even when not delivering power. While this device has an On/Off button, it also advises 'remove battery when not in use' - implying a possible standby draw even when switched off. So I asked the Seller: No Response.So its prudent to remove battery when not in use.Remember at 18v and 5Ah the Makita Battery only contains 90 Wh of power.
